Burn is a progressive, aggressive metal/ post-hardcore band based out of NYC. They were groundbreaking and ahead of the
curve at there inception in 1989 and continue to push the limits of musical boundaries and genres right up to there recent LP released on Deathwish Inc in 2017.
"Mountain" is Burn's latest release recorded in January 2018.

Burn is hands down one of Hardcore's all time greatest heavy hitters. Influential, legendary, and consisting of some of the genre's most accomplished musicians. Truly masters of the movement. This release only strengthens the foundation they began to build upon so many years ago. "...From the Ashes" is nothing short of Hardcore brilliance.

While I have to admit this full-length as a whole doesn't quite stand up as high in comparison to Burn's excessively amazing EP's, there are a shit-ton of other hardcore bands whose entire oeuvre come nowhere CLOSE to this level of sharp, soul-ripping awesomeness. Burn has been a staple in my rotations for decades and their standing with me is always, all ways, skyhigh.

I don't mean to be a "first albums only" elitist or anything of the sort since I didn't even discover these guys til maybe a year and change ago, but truth be told- the demo tracks are my favorites despite Deafheaven's undeniable growth and evolution into a broader sort of awesome.

There isn't one bad song on this. I love this LP. Dynamic sound, precise time changes, thick guitars and solid drumming. Pushing the envelope and expanding the realm of possibilities. This isn't cookie cutter/cut and paste music. Can't wait to hear more. Would love to see them live.
